About us
Risley Independent Methodist Church is located in the village of Fearnhead, to the east of Warrington. The church was founded in 1806 and was housed for most of its first hundred years in the rural community of Risley. In 1910 it moved to a new purpose-built church on Fearnhead Lane in Fearnhead where it is has remained ever since*.
The church has services each Sunday plus various mid-week meetings and events. The church is also available for weddings, funerals and christenings.
The church is also a registered charity (registered charity number 1168368).
- * One of the most regularly asked questions about the church is “Why is it called Risley church when it is in Fearnhead?” The answer is pretty simple – it was originally located in Risley and then moved to the new chapel. For the full story see the ‘Our History’ page.

Our Services
Sunday Services
There are two regular Sunday services – morning (10:45) and evening (18:00). Through most of the year we have a morning or evening service on alternate weeks. The full planned schedule is available in our What’s On page (link below).
Mid-week meetings
There is a range of mid-week meetings and events – some of them are purely social, others are more centred on our core Christian fellowship. To see the range of available meetings, please click on the What’s On button below.
